Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for the most common capture, network, and sharing problems.

Flash

Multiple flashes out of sync

  • Use only one wireless trigger for all of your flashes. Multiple triggers can introduce timing differences between units.
  • Some lower-end flashes cannot synchronize reliably. They may work when the subject is stationary, but action shots can produce double exposures when the subject moves. Avoid unreliable units such as the Godox MS300 for this type of setup.
  • Wireless range can be a problem. If distance or interference is affecting synchronization, try using audio cables as a wired alternative.

Flashes firing for no reason

  • Check whether someone is accidentally triggering the flashes by taking photos with a smartphone. This can happen in busy environments.
  • Change the channel on all flashes and on the remote trigger. A different channel can help avoid interference from nearby electronic devices.
  • Make sure the cameras' built-in pop-up flashes are disabled.
  • Deactivate or cover the infrared sensor on the flashes if it is responding to nearby infrared signals.
  • Check the electrical system, including power connections, extension cables, and circuit stability.
