Artist Andrea Boyle recently experimented with light painting techniques, using the character Mirror Nose as her subject. Mirror Nose is a unique collaborative art project, co-created by Boyle and her friend, known as @beebionica, 59 years ago during an English class. The two have continuously exchanged and evolved the character since its inception. Boyle's recent light painting session successfully captured Mirror Nose in a new artistic medium, adding to the character's long and storied history.

This is for my friend @beebionica . We created the Mirror Nose 59 years ago while passing notes in an English class and have been exchanging him ever since. I still can’t believe it has been that long. I decided to try lightpainting around him this afternoon. it worked pretty well!".

Virtual Ink, a real-time light painting software, has launched a new version. The software's development began in 2015 when Eric Pare and Kim Henry were invited to perform at TedX, inspiring the creation of an initial prototype for live light painting. After being utilized by several prominent light painters for live performances, Pare decided a year ago to further invest in the software's development to enhance accessibility and utility, particularly within a videobooth context. The Virtual Ink team, including Eric Pare and Kim Henry, has been creating new content for the software, with plans to expand its artistic applications outdoors this summer, moving beyond studio-based work.

The last days have been filled with fun creating content for our software @virtual.ink 😆😆💥💥 ... thanks Kim for playing with me We're coming up with new version (officially launched today) as a natural evolution of what we've been doing over the past years. This adventure started in 2015 when Kim and I got invited to do a TedX performance. Our idea was to do real-time light-painting and with the team, we've been able to come up with the first embryo within a few weeks. It was kind of sketchy but it worked perfectly.
