Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Virtual.ink Mobile for Android and iPhone, including its Live and Refine modes. Eric Pare Studio inc. ("Xangle", "we", "us") is responsible for the processing described here.

The Android and iPhone versions use the same product privacy policy. Platform-specific permissions and store disclosures are identified where they differ.

Virtual.ink Mobile does not require an Xangle account to use its core Live and Refine features. We do not receive an email address merely because you install or use the mobile app.

The app may access camera input when you use Live, and may access media that you select for Refine or local export workflows. Camera input and selected media are processed on the device unless a feature clearly tells you that content will be sent to a remote service.

Optional account sign-in ("Sync across devices") lets a purchase made on Android or iPhone unlock the same entitlement on both, using a one-time email code, no password. If you choose to sign in, we receive your email address and, while signed in, we record a one-way hashed version of it each time the app checks your entitlement, solely to count daily and monthly active users in aggregate. This hashed value cannot be reversed back into your email address, is never itself your email address, and is not used to build a profile of your in-app activity.

The app may send technical network requests needed for enabled configuration, advertising, update, support, or service features. Hosting and service providers may receive normal request metadata such as IP address, date and time, device or app version, and user-agent information.

If you contact us or voluntarily provide information for support, an upgrade, a promotion, or another request, we may receive the information you submit, such as your email address and the contents of your message.

Free-tier builds may display advertising. The applicable advertising provider and SDK may process device, advertising, diagnostic, or request information as described in its own privacy documentation. The app and store disclosures will identify any consent or permission required for the provider enabled in the released build.

Paid features, update services, analytics, crash reporting, or remote configuration will be described in the released product configuration and the applicable store disclosures before they are enabled.

The current mobile app flow does not include Xangle account login, password collection, passive camera upload, or a requirement to upload your photos or videos to Xangle. Local camera and media permissions do not by themselves mean that Xangle receives the underlying media.

We process information to operate and secure the app, deliver requested services, provide support, measure or improve reliability where enabled, display advertising where enabled, comply with law, and respond to communications you send us.

We use service providers only as needed for the purposes described above, such as hosting, advertising, crash or diagnostic services, email, and app-store billing where applicable. We do not sell personal information.

Retention depends on the purpose and provider. Local media remains under your device and operating-system controls. Technical provider logs are retained according to the provider configuration and applicable law. We retain support or promotional correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the request, relationship, or legal obligation.

You can control camera and media permissions through Android or iPhone settings. You can use the free-tier or paid product choices offered in the app and store. Where advertising or analytics consent is required, the applicable consent control will be provided.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that we hold about you, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact [email protected].

Virtual.ink Mobile is intended for general and professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where prohibited by applicable law.
